A short half-term mix for the final term of Cre8tiv® DJ Skills course at Midi Music Company in Deptford, London.

The brief was to put together a 6 track set. I decided to go for a 140 set. I haven’t got much of this so I don’t often get a chance to play it. Definitely had fun with this one. I did fuck up the last transition a bit, but I was able to get in a cheeky bait and switch at the end.

It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally gotten round to putting together a site for my DJ work. Whilst I am a backend engineer by trade, my frontend skills are rubbish, so this did push me out of my comfort zone a bit. There’s probably more tweaks that I’ll make over time, but for now, it should do the job.

Another practice mix coming towards the end of the second term at the Cre8tiv® DJ Skills course at Midi Music Company in Deptford, London.

This was a pretty big one as it’s the first time using DJay Pro. It was a big job to migrate my library across but I’m happy I moved to it. This is the first proper set I’ve done with it so I’m still getting used to it. There are a couple of ropey transitions at the start but I’m pretty happy with it overall.

I recently came back from a trip to South Africa and immersed myself in the amazing Cape Town music scene. This mix contains only tracks that I heard during my time in the city. This is well out of my comfort zone of wall to wall Jungle/D&B, but I really wanted to challenge myself and learn a new genre. Cape Town is a place very close to my heart having been a previous resident of it (hopefully I’ll live there again in the future!). This mix is a way for me to show my appreciation of “The Mother City”.

Tried out a different approach to marking the tracks up so hopefully the timings are a bit better on the transitions with this one. Messed up a couple of the mixes a bit, but overall, pretty happy with how it turned out.
